I am Vidhya Venkataraghavan, person behind this blog. I am management professional by qualification, working for a MNC company at Chennai, India. I am married with 2 sons and live with my parents-in-laws. I started this blog to share my 20 years of cooking experience with you.
I believe cooking good food is an art. All of us know about the ingredients for every dish, yet we look for authentic sources to know more. In this blog, I focus on authentic dishes of India. My blog has more tips and tricks so that you can follow the recipe easily. All the recipes in this site are tried and tested in my kitchen.
Rasa in Sanskrit means divine taste. Every food item is classified into different Rasa (taste) and Guna (nature). I happened to read an ayurvedic literature, which invariably categorizes all the ingredients used in cooking based on its Rasa and Guna. It made me admire the science we had with food. Hence I decided to keep my blog name as “RasaKitchen”.
It is a myth that tasty food would not be healthy. Nor that to prepare tasty food you need more time. It is careful planning and knowledge of food science makes that food healthy and tasty. I am of late trying to be a Vegan (but for the filter coffee), though I include milk in my cooking, I try not to take them.
My children are my best critic. I got a small set of friends who encourage me and give feedback to make my writing and pictures better.
Your comments are precious to me and helps me to understand how well I connect with you. If you have any comments or queries about any of the recipes or tips, feel free to write to me. I will be glad to respond.
